Make A Decision: Leaving the Institutional Church

” Be ye not unequally yoke together with unbelievers:” – 2 Corinthians 6:14 a

We are told 2 Corinthians 6:14 at church that we are called to separate ourselves from those who do not follow the Lord, but do this apply to Christians too!

We heard this old saying, “Birds of a feather flock together.”  Can this be the same for Christian and Non-Christians alike? We tend to hung around like-minded people, who reflex ourselves in some way, shape, or form. When we join a new community, job, church, and so no, we like to feel that we belong there all of our lives, right!

So when you join your local church, you felt that you would be there for the rest of your nature and spiritual walk on earth. Why? At that time, you agreed with that organizational body. You were like-minded. They met your spiritual needs, until you had a desire to learn more about your Heavenly Father, and His kingdom.  All before, you were drinking only the milk of  “The Word”.  God had shown you great things through this organization, like who you are and what is good for you. Now, you can sense the meat of  “The Word.”  You have a desire to grow in Christ, to walk in God’s perfect will for your life.

What should you do now?

Stay with your local church where you are comfortable, and everything is done for you – spiritually, or leave your comfort zone. Walk away from being a babe in Christ, or step out by faith knowing that God will direct your path to maturity in Him.

Here are my suggestion for you:

  • Pray to God for your set place. Where you should be a this time in your walk with Him?
  • Write your vision down. God will show you your next move. Trust and Believe in Him. He will tell you where to go, who to be with at time in you life, and so on.
  • Act out what you believe. Start doing those things God called you too!

Just like a plant needs sunlight and water, you too need the same – Jesus and the Living Water of God. If you decision to say at your local church without getting proper nourishment, you will adversely die spiritually. I know you do not what that to happen, right!

Making a Decision starts with pray. Ask God for Help!
