List of US Christian Cults (False Religious Churches)

Today there are so many cults in this world who identify themselves as Christian, and/or believe in some parts of Christianity’s Theology. These False churches (cults) use the Bible as their scriptural text, but it is misapplied. This list is by no means complete. If you would like to help me to add others that you are aware of, please contact me.

NOTE: Many who called themselves Christian or have some idea of Christianity may not believe in studying and examining oneself (group, organization, assembly, or church) with the Holy Scriptures of the Living God. This list is not to judge a belief, however, Christians are told in the Bible to separate themselves from the sinful practices of man and to expose error. “Examine all things and to hold fast to that which is true,” says God’s word (1 Thess. 5:21) through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. So we do so on this website.

Galatians 5:1
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

  1. May The Lord Help Us From Evil And False Pastors And Their Churches.I Have No Doubt To See A Huge Number Of False And Occultic Churches, because Jesus Categorically Said It In Matthew 24:24.Those Churches Build Their Wealth By Sacrificing Their Church Members To Their Idols, alas May The Lord Help Us

    1. Yes. That’s right when you say “Those Churches Build Their Wealth By Sacrificing Their Church Members To Their Idols, alas May The Lord Help Us.” – I will give you a 5 out of 5 star rating for this.

      1. Greed is bad & a sin, but it is not idolatry Covetousness likewise is a sin, but it is
not idolatry. Webster says “idolatry is worship of an idol -& one can do that by
making a graven image or worshiping Mary etc.
Note what the Bible says what idols are & Ex 20:17 says “You shall not covet
anything that is your neighbor’s house,…., but it is NOT idolatry. its desiring something that is not yours (& really may not be anyone -Christians are to be
content -while they can pray for things, but not long for things that are not theirs.
Paul tells us Phil 4:12; I Tim 6:8, Heb 13:5 & Paul had at times suffered need, BUT
it is not wrong to pray for your bills to be paid (but we should be a good steward
of whatever we have too). Its not wrong to pray for a car so we can get around &
not have to walk, but that does NOT mean to pray for a Cadillac, etc. nor is it wrong to pray for a house so you don’t have to pay rent.

      1. Carol Cooper,
Colossians 3:5 Put to death, then, your members that [are] upon the earth — whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry

      2. Col 3:5 NKJV ¶Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

This scripture clearly says covetousness is idolatry.

    2. I must admit I dont follow anyone, I so convinced about the great deceit and how it began, history prophecy and bible changes , Talmund to the Pope and Vatican secrets, God or Jesus would neither deny man nor lie to man, One is a creator, the designer the knowledge scientists humans themselves know nothing but what the designer permits End of. I consider those who dont beleive Jesus at all, and think ok I can accept that too, still leaves One God One Creator of life and earth? I am really disappointed from the reads on John McCarthur, with so many removals and tweeks to translations, even the KJV, it began with those betrayed Christ, if they dont beleive, then they must be like Jehovahs Witnesses, beleive Revellations is for them only? One God Amen, I enjoyed this read today, thank you

      1. I listen to John McCarthur’s Sermons and then study the scripture verses. That is the only truth that is in the bible it is the word of God. This led me to study more. The whole world has been fed ‘pretty’ stories. With people believing a fake religion in churches and with those that don’t attend a church. Many question God’s love with words like IF there is a God why does he allow suffering, why send his son to die a terrible death. They question Adam and Eve, saying God could have prevented it. God is for all mankind and he is the only judge. Mankind in general twists the truth for greed, for esteem, for control. There are people out there that are of Christian denominations but are lukewarm, gossipers, rebellious. We are all sinners and need the Grace of God. John McCarthur opens up your thinking to discern the truth. I don’t believe or follow any man or any denomination, only God. Man should listen as the Enoch who was a reader of the scriptures but di not understand until he listened and learned and was convinced and he then wanted to be baptised into a commitment with Christ / God. Faith shows your commitment. The bible tells us not to be deceived as Eve was deceived by an evil spirit (Satan). Looking at that, I saw that Adam was given the command, before Eve was made and he was responsible for Eden, the animals and Eve. This basic scripture has not been looked at but it is there and all word is profitable for learning.

    3. The only thing GOD ever gave use was the TEN COMMANDMENTS…the bible are just stories that fortify what breaking Gods rules for mankind are, funny thing is all the major religions live by the same rules so to speak with the exception of radicals in all religions.

  2. You forgot Real Life Church Valencia California pastor Rusty George – Shepherd of the Hills Porter Ranch California Pastor Dudley Rutherford – Mission Church Ventura California pastor Mike Hickerson.

      1. Sonja, you are so mistaken. Evangelicals are those who believe Jesus Christ is Lord,
He went to the cross & was raised from the dead (John 3:3-7; Eph 2:8-9; Rom 10:9-10. Evangelicals are born again Christians regardless of race. AND you are
very mistaken -Trump has been saved & supports & pray for Israel which the Bible tells us too. The Bible is the source of truth -not a belief that is not founded in
Bible. Jesus says, “I am the way, truth & Life & no one comes to the Father but by me.” Evangelical Christians do have many differing doctrines i.e. about necessity or not of water baptism; belief on rather the gifts in I Cor 12 are operational today; differ on end-time views & many other things, but ONLY the Bible is source of truth. Since you oppose evangelical church, one may question rather you have been saved i.e. born again (Jn 3:3-7; Rom 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9) If a particular church opposes you because you are Black or Oriental than go to another church, but there are Black & Oriental Evangelical Christians. If one has not been saved (Eph 2:8-9; Rom 10:9-10, John 3:3-7 then if you die in your opinion I can guarantee you, you will end up in hell. One can be a nice person & do great deeds & help people, but God says “By grace you are saved thru faith, it is a gift of God not of works.”
Good works & nice people won’t get one to heaven & if one has done horrible things B4 they get saved, & they humble themselves & believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who paid for all of our sins & was raised from the dead, they shall be saved.

      2. You’ll find a better place that actually values Christian principles. You may have to do some searching, but God will lead you to the correct place, so don’t lose faith in that.

  3. I don’t get it. Am I supposed to avoid the churches on this list, or try to have my church entered onto this list? If I was a Baptist, and left them to just study the Bible by myself, is that a good thing? And, if in my searching I find my answers with a group that I later find on your list; do I have to leave it because they’re evil? Finally, what is your opinion of people who engender dissent?

    1. Although I am not a Baptist, but there are many good Baptist Churches. My question to you is why you want to leave the Baptist Church? Another thing you state “to just study the Bible by yourself, is that a good thing? No, the Bible tells us “Do not forsake yourself fellowship with other believers. In those days, the churches we have today are not the same. Paul wrote to different fellowship groups i.e. in Eph. Gal. & others. We also find in Rev a list of churches that were around in John’s day -where all but one were given positive, but then it says, “But this I have against you.” In addn to this, if Christians really studied the Bible, its quite likely there are going to be things we see differently -& we can agree to disagree (talking about other believers) not cults i.e. Mormons, Jehovah Witness, Unity, etc. Christians must agree that we must believe that Jesus Christ is not only Son of God, but He is God in the flesh (….& He became flesh & dwelt among us). We must believe that the Bible is source of truth. thus if a belief or a teaching contradicts the Bible the Bible always is correct. We are to renew our mind on the Word of God & we are to bring down every thought to the obedience of Christ, our Lord.” A former pastor said to his congregation, “When we (Christians)
die & go to heaven, we all are going to find out things we were so sure of & learn we
are wrong.” Christians are believers & are not perfect not in their life nor in their understanding of the Bible. I’m 76 & was saved @ 12, but went my own way not HIS
way & returned to the Lord in 1983. I’ve learned many things & have grown, but I certainly recognize “oops, I can see that vs differently than I did years ago or how I was taught. We always should be respectful of other believers -Evangelical believers; Pentecostals/Charismatics & agree to disagree, but we can NEVER compromise our belief about Jesus, that He is 2nd person of trinity, & God in the flesh, that we have all sinned against God & Jesus pd for our sins, died & rose again & is coming again.
I have never heard of engender dissent. What is that?

      1. I think you have your facts incorrect. I’m working on a PhD in Theology of World Religions and you claim that Jesus is “God”. Jesus was not God but the son of God and this is stated in the Bible. Jesus never claimed to be “God” and the idea of Jesus being God was created by Constantine I at the First Council of Nicaea in the year 325 CE. The bible as you know it today was from various gospels that were hand selected by Constantine I and five bishops so as to the purpose of defining the nature of God for all of Christianity and eliminating confusion, controversy, and contention within the church. The Council of Nicea overwhelmingly affirmed the deity and eternality of Jesus Christ and defined the relationship between the Father and the Son as “of one substance.” It also affirmed the Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were listed as three co-equal and co-eternal Persons.

      2. I’m having a WONDERFUL time finding churches on this list that reject the notion of a 3 in 1 man-god hybrid out of the holy Roman Empire in the 3rd century on. THAT automatically makes me a cult, but I like that 1st century apostles title. I’m inviting them to join the the “UNITARIAN CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE” –folks who have only ONE God, Yahweh (his name), & Jesus, the only begotten son of the Father (perfect man). That’s TWO and we are born of His spirit with life everlasting in His Eternal Kingdom. We have NO enemies as you do, and accept everyone as they are. Our warfare is with the powers of the air (demons). And, no, I don’t agree with every opinion on the list, but I search the Scriptures, whether those things are so (is “Trinity” in there? Perhaps God forgot to tell us, so all the prophets and Jesus’ disciples were wrong! I GOTTA GO. btw: “engender dissent” (strife) is a VERB. — a thing that you like doing!!!

  4. All churches and organizations that call themselves Christian, or believe the Basic Doctrines of Constantine Romanism like the Trinity (Jesus is god), Faith in Jesus as a sacrifice for sin, Jesus coming again, or who believe the NT Greek Bible (a collection the prophet Jesus never used) contains any authority, or is inspired – are all (False religions) according to the Hebrew Bible. The reasons there is no common “Christian” Church acceptable to any of the others, is because their foundation is base upon an “uninspired” collection of NT hearsay and opinions.

    1. I have met dozens and dozens of JW over the years , and yes they have written a bible for their own usage to fit their own beliefs , one very prominent belief of their teachings is that Jesus is not Almighty God , but they believe Jesus is a lesser god that Almighty GOD has created …. but people will believe what they prefer to be true ……

    2. Many people(21 so far) gave you a thumbs down because they’re either ignorant regarding the truth you wrote or they have cognitive dissonance!

  5. This was appalling to see tat anyone discredited Jehovah witnesses, and said they have their own bible, It was put into laymen’s terms in certain places. And they do not idolize a cross flag or anything but Jehovah himself. I may be new to the religion and studying, but buy all means their worship among themselves is true. As in all religions, there are a few wolves in sheep clothing, which by the way are disassociated but still welcome to attend awaiting a time they are again accredited or redeemed. You can put 300,000 of them together nd feel love not war or fights. I was browsing a subject when I seen this thread. What makes you think you have it right? Can you put 300,000 together and see nothing but love? Its funny because as a youngster no one wanted to believe that Jehovah, Christ, and the holy spirit were separate, and no one uses Jehovah’s name even after Jesus told Satan, it is my father you should worship, or pray in Jesus name because he was the way to the father. No after 40 years his name is finally coming to light. Yahweh (YHWH). No we don’t salute flags, join military’s other than gods army, nor vote.

    1. Hi Mr. Zink, I hope you understand that the Doctrine of God’s Word is more important than organized religion. It is not based on feelings. It about doing the perfect will of God. Thanks for stopping by!

      1. There’s no such thing as “Doctrine of God’s Word” because everybody interprets the scriptures differently. And what does ‘feelings’ have to do with any of this? Does doctrine really have anything to do with doing the perfect will of God since everybody’s doctrine is different? WOW huh?

The definition of Doctrine is a ‘teaching or, what is taught’. Heresy is a choice or OPINION. There are very few damnable heresies/doctrines. The only two I know of are blasphemy against the holy spirit, which is attributing to Satan that which is comes from God, and denying Jesus’ life, death by crucifixion, and resurrection. And – the word ‘cult’ is a very ambiguous term. By definition – all churches are ‘cults’.

      2. Once again, James Martel, you thought this page was a bible study lesson to espouse what you were taught? Well, it’s not!! IT IS A LIST OF ORGANIZED RELIGIOUS CHURCHES. You continue to show others my point on the need to study the Word of God; His inspired words have never changed. However, men’s belief in interpretation has. As for the word “CULT,” It is for the reader to NOT misplace their devotion to any organization.

      3. The problem is you, in all your arrogance, think that YOU are the gate keeper of Gods word. Has it even entered your mind that you took on yourself the authority if God alone to condemn MILLIONS of people and their beliefs becasue YOU feel you alone apparently are the filter through which truth flows? The arrogance and pride alone in that opinion and suggestion is sinful beyond belief. Everyone who doesn’t agree with your take is a “cult”..many would say YOU are a cult. Yes Yes I know you are just going to tp tell me YOU know what the Bible says and go quoting scripture -scripture that you cherry pick for your purpose without Context. You talk a lot about “Gods word” and Cherry pick parts of to make yourself appear* a authority on Theology and scriptures. “The doctrine of Gods word?” Gods word isnt a “doctrine”-Gods word as we have it today is collection of scriptures that due to culture, version of scripture and personal interpretation can mean different things to different people. God Knew -and Knows-this would be the case. The very nature of a “cult” is someone or some organization who claims to be the gatekeeper of truth at the expense of all others being “false doctrine”…all others except those approved by the Cult leader , cultist, or their appointed proxy is “false” in the eyes on the person claiming power to THE authority on Gods word-and you’d have to be claiming that in order to go around condemning Many of the Worlds great religions as “Cults. “A religion doesn’t have to be “organized ” to be a cult. The very definition of a “doctrine” s the beliefs held by any given political, religious or philosophical party…”Doctrine by its very nature is Plural. There is no singular “doctrine” other than the one you have elected to beleive or accept or that any other group accepts and declares as theirs. But there isn’t one “factual and true doctrine” ..some doctrines like scientific ones based in scientific method are are more solid than others-but even those can and do change when new information and facts come along…So if your doctrine the one you accept is simply that your dogma and take on scripture is based on the scripture alone , understand that that is a extremely weak position , base, and not even remotely novel. It is in fact the same thing many exclusive organized religions have said at different times in history and some still do. Most truly honest ones acknowledge that their doctrine is based on what they believe the scriptures say-and no longer usurp power possessed by God alone. Its true enough that reading the scriptures’ enlightens one to some fairly obvious tenants of the Christian faith…Its the doctrine of my faith that Lying, Murdering, Adultery, ect are sinful activities. While I purport these to be against God’s commandments for Christians there are other things that are far more debate able-its these things that I cannot, shouldn’t not and will purport to be fact or sins in the Eyes of God-I do not have that authority even though I may have a opinion on it. My God would not want time to waste I could spend helping others feeding the sick and caring for the poor…debating and going around listing every religion I thought in my opinion wasn’t in keeping with scriptures Why anyone would be so arrogant and prideful-both sins in their own right to assume the power and authority to go around cutting off whole religions from the community of Christianity, I have no Idea<While some of these listed are clearly not organizations whose tenants are in keeping with Gods word ie: Aryan nations, Christian Identity, Numerology, ect-due to the fact theta they directly contradict very clear scripture, others are matters of opinion only and youd do well to not take on yourself authority you do not have to to go wholesale condemning many schools of Christian thought.

      4. Wow, Mr Abbott, here is my response to your quote, “The problem is you, in all your arrogance, think that YOU are the gate keeper of Gods word.” Conceit and Self-satisfaction have resulted in your own boomerang effect. God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.

    2. Sorry to burst your bubble, but, the NWT of the JW clearly take out parts of scripture that doesn’t align with their beliefs and makes their supposed bible null and void. They also would predict what day, month and year when the world would end. They have given up that practice. Good people and mean well and truly are devoted, I know. The basic problem is they are misled by the Watchtower society and are spiritually blind. A few of my family members have been witnessed for decades. I was brought up in it, but never bought into it. Not judging them, I truly pray for them.

    3. Mr. Z,
you should read Texe Marr’s book, “Churches and Pastors Gone Wild”. Anything that Texe Marr’s has written, really. He knew his stuff. JW’s are not following the Word of God which is the King James Authorized Version. Also please read Jack McElroy’s excellent book, “What Bible Would Jesus Use?” It woke me up to the fact that the church I went to (not JW but another church) was using the wrong bible. Then I saw that they did not have a cross anywhere on their church building (inside or out!) and God led me to find out some stuff the pastor was doing that was totally not Christian. Ask for illumination. I used to be Catholic and I left that devil’s church as soon as I was able. Check out Texe Marrs. He’s a good one if you are looking for the real truth.

      1. gosh your journey so resembles mine too, I cant beleive what he shown me, though being outcast from speaking the truth about in your face bands in a church? daughter for Elder? my first day began from the moment I was raised out of the baptism water, all that was in my head somewhere momentarily was False Prophet, what was one of them boy was i in for a ride with Truth like you, to he who loved us First!! God Bless You

    4. I could gather a bunch of pot smokers together and get the same results! Everybody would be chill. When ANY Christian religion makes up It’s OWN bible that is NOT inspired by the Holy Spirit, that is an ABOMINATION before God. The one responsible for that decision has led millions astray! I was raised a JW and never felt comfortable at those meetings or felt the presence of God. It felt like a business meeting and how to recruit new members. When I was of age I dropped out. Eventually, God and His grace entered into my heart and today by the grace of God I have a relationship with Him. I have nothing personal against the JW’s they are just spiritually blind. Believe me, I have tried showing my family biblical truths but, they are in deep spiritual bondage. It’s uncanny how they dismiss any evidence of truth.

    5. God is the judge. The Bible is God’s word. We are not perfect. Carole Cooper you have said it perfectly. We do need to fellowship with others but not participate in the things we understand are not true to God’s word. I know many friends that have views that I believe not to be right, I choose to still be friends but not to be swayed by them. God will let you know the truth and I for definitely was swayed around with false doctrine, like a child but you grow and I have loads more growing to do. Christians should not stop growing learning more and more from the Bible. I remember thinking, what happens when I have finished reading the Bible. We can never stop learning more from God’s word, having a passion, praying for forgiveness, being amazed at God’s Power, Glory and Love.

    1. Sorry, James Martel that you feel that way. However, we are to discern (to judge between good and evil) according to the perfect will of God. This list is only for studying only purposes. You are to show yourself approve unto God, and not man. You have totally missed the point. If you believe in one or more of these false religious churches, it is your turn to reexamine where you worship by asking if God is there according to Scripture? Feelings are subject to change, but God’s word does not change.

      1. Maybe it’s time for you to do your own homework instead of letting others do it for you. God’s Word doesn’t change. The Catholics were masters at changing it and, like it or not, that’s where this ‘trinity’ comes from. It took them about 300 years to devise the heresy of Trinity. There was no such thing as a Trinity among the apostles and disciples. It’s a man-made construct inspired by demons that Rome devised and that Protestants have accepted line, hook, and sinker. The Trinity doctrine comes from a Church that Protestants call, “the Whore of Babylon, the beast, the apostate church, and a heretical cult!” Have you ever considered these things? Better yet, have you ever studied the historical development of this diabolical Trinity doctrine?

A brief history of the Trinity’s development.

        AD 325 Jesus becomes God

The First Council of Nicaea formulated the original Nicene Creed. Most importantly, the council defined the equality of God the Father and Christ, his son. It taught that Jesus was of the same substance as God the Father and not just merely similar.

AD 381 The holy spirit becomes God

The First Council of Constantinople AD 381defined in four canons the Nicene Creed, which is still used in the Catholic Church. Most importantly, it defined the divinity of the Holy Spirit,

AD 451 Jesus Christ acquires two natures

The Council of Chalcedon defined the two natures (divine and human) of Jesus Christ. “We teach unanimously that the one son, our lord Jesus Christ to be fully God and fully human.”[8] It met in 17 sessions from October 8 until November 451 during the pontificate of Pope Leo the Great. It issued 28 canons, the last one defining equality of the bishops of Rome and Constantinople, which was rejected by the papal delegates and Pope Leo the Great.

I hate Trinity. It has driven me completely away from the religion of Christianity…but not God.

      2. Mr. Martel, Can you NOT discern times and seasons? A list of Organized Churches is NOT theological or doctrinal thesis. I have only approved this post for others to see/understand my point with you about heterodoxy. Deviating from it is futile.

      3. If you are as educated and read about the “Catholic Church” as you claim to be then you would know that the Catholic Church as we know it now is not the same First Council of Nicaea.

Now I’m not that well read on the Catholic Church but I have read enough to know it has changed over the years.

I think many think that the Catholic Church as we see it today has always been that way and it hasn’t.

For example “confession” really didn’t start until the 11th century. Now how many years is that past the First Council of Nicaea?

And may I suggest you do something about your hatred. The only thing we should hate is “evil”. Many churches have a varying different beliefs. Maybe some are wrong but that doesn’t mean they came to that belief through some form of conspiracy but maybe a lack of understanding or maybe in some cases a better understanding.

Personally I am more concerned with a person’s behavior then what they think they know.

  6. I have a daughter who is involved/in love with a boy who has been brought up in one of these churches/religions. His parents are very strict. It is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. They will not allow him to do anything outside of school except with the church or his family. He basically has to sneak around to see my daughter outside of school. Which I might ad has only been twice in their 6 month relationship. He recently got into trouble and has had everything taken away. His parents even sold his vehicle. Which I thought was extremely excessive punishment for what he had done. He lives in a nice home and dresses nicely. One would never know his home life is somewhat of a prison. Through my daughter and what she tells me, he is very fearful of his parents and he is constantly put on guilt trips by his parents. Even so, like most children he still loves his parents especially his mom. My daughter is in love with him and sees hope for the two of them eventually. In complete disbelief of what I’ve been watching my daughter and her boyfriend go through, literally a modern day Romeo and Juliet. I looked up church cults and of course the one he attends with his family is on all the list. I feel really badly for this kid. I pray for my daughter, the boyfriend and his parents continuously. This is a hard a tricky question I know, but what would you recommend? I have been brought up and I am today a Baptist. Not that that maters but we Baptist’s are so not the way this church is. It’s beliefs system is so foreign to me. Maybe you can provide me with some much needed guidance. Thank you!

    1. There will be a move , revial were Jesus will manifested himself, its is close where the Love of God and merciful Jesus will be on display, you don’t have to worry, he can move on you if you are in a cult ,He loves you it will come , The awakening, the Glory of God , it’s not spooky , it’s real , wait for it, open your heart’s to it,

    1. If the leader/s twist the scriptures for their evil agenda then it’s a cult. Many cult leaders subtly twist the bible and do mind control by giving sermons for their own evil agenda. I recommend read your bible regularly and once in a while listen to sermon, if you see contradictions then you will see red flags that it’s a cult. Test the spirits and prove all things. Know them by their fruits. And do research about their history and roots. Can a bad tree produce good fruit? Church of God has history of being a cult.

      1. Hi Salem,

If I leave my home and go to the mall I go by a Church of Christ, two Congregational churches, a ‘Faith Tabernacle” church, a JW hall, an ‘Abundant Life Church, a Word of Life Church, a Next Level Church, an IFB Church, a Nazarene Church, a Methodist Church, and two Catholic Churches.

Now tell me… which one has the ‘truth’?

Christians are destroying Christianity and the numbers prove it! I’m now one of the ‘DONES’. Many in that category are former pastors (like myself) and were very involved in the ‘church’. Why am I now one of the ‘DONES’? Because of the many – many people who condemn non-Trinitarians. I’m sick of it and barely hanging onto Jesus. Therefore, this is my last post here because it destroys my spirit – especially after being accused of HATRED!

It is not an enemy who taunts me—
        I could bear that.
It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me—
I could have hidden from them.

        Instead, it is you—my equal,
        my companion and close friend.

What good fellowship we once enjoyed
as we walked together to the house of God.

    2. I would say no. I grew up in Church of God, Anderson. Theology is Wesleyan-Armenian Holiness. As with Baptist, Calvinist, Lutheranism and the like they try to stay consistent with Scripture, but there are bad churches within the various theological perspectives. When I study Scripture, I find myself somewhere between them all. So I look for reformed Church I check for Bible-based doctrinal statements on the websites and look for expository preaching, traditional worship as prescribed in Scripture and use of a solid Translation of the Bible as opposed to a paraphrase. COG, Anderson does have this in the majority of churches, but they have some bad apples just as the other traditions.

  7. I am a member of a small Sabbatarian, non-Trinitarian Christian denomination which came out of the Millerite Movement. It will remain unnamed, as I do not speak for the church in an official capacity. The whole point of the Protestant Reformation, was that our beliefs, doctrines, and practices as Christians should be based on the Bible and the Bible alone – not on extra-Biblical constructs fabricated in the minds of men, and passed down from one generation to the next as tradition. While the denominational distinctives of my church place us beyond the pale of mainstream Christian teachings, we would argue that what we hold to be true based on our careful reading of Scripture, is more consistent with the letter and intent of God’s Word. For instance, there is not one Bible text authorizing Sunday observance. The mainstream churches argue that they worship on Sunday because Jesus arose from the dead on the first day. The fact is, however, that God never commanded anyone to observe Sunday as the day of worship to memorialize Lord Jesus’ resurrection, or for any other reason. The antiquity of apostasy does not convey legitimacy. As to the Trinity, it does not appear in Scripture either as a word or a concept. Trinitarians argue that they were all there at Jesus’ baptism. They were all there all right, but what were they – three divine personages, or the Heavenly Father, his only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and the common Spirit they share one with another? Unfortunately, for many Christians, their definition of a pseudo-Christian cult, is any church which does not share their misconceptions of divine reality.

    1. three divine personages, does not mean they are 3 separate bodies as in 3 separate persons each with their own body , you will need to seek the LORD on this …some people cannot conceive their a GOD , and some that believe there si a Holy God cannot conceive how and why God became a human man ……some things are much more difficult for some people than others , Jesus became son only after he was born as a human , he was not son before that , he was LOGOS , the WORD , the WORD that became flesh and dwelt among them , The Holy Spirit is real but does not have his own physical body
You follow a religion that was taught to you without studying it deeply ….as many others do regardless of what denomination they are in . One day in the time to come Jesus will reveal all those deeper things that cause confusion , but as long as you are born-again in the Holy Spirit you will see Jesus in his true light , instaed of complaining about things you do not understand , IF you believe in Jesus and are saved , try showing HIS light in you ….

    2. It’s disturbing to see anybody rates your post down. I have no problem with Sabbath keeping churches other than SDA’S who damn over a billion Christians for going to church on Sunday. I like the offshoots of Herbert W Armstrong. Like JW’S, and SDA’S – they are good Christians.

This blog is an example of how BAD Christianity really is! I say it’s the Trinitarians who are the judgmental heretics.

    3. No, the word Trinity does not appear in scripture but there is a indicated a separate “Entity” in scripture and sometimes speaks. Matt. 12:32; Matt. 28:19; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7, 13-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-47; Acts 5:3; Acts 8:29; Acts 10:19; Acts 11:2; Acts 13:2; Eph. 4:30; 2 Pet. 1:21;

And just because it isn’t commanded why would it be wrong to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ since him dying for our sins and the resurrection of the dead is what the Gospel is all about.

As for worshiping Jesus on Sunday a Christian should be worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth everyday of the week and not just Sunday. And since Jesus never gave a command which day to meet there is no right or wrong for meeting on Sunday.

Why would it be wrong to celebrate is resurrection? Who wouldn’t celebrate if a departed loved one was brought back from the dead especially Jesus?

      1. Thank you for the insight sister Doris, allow me to provide the Sword of the Spirit for further reading. The Sabbath is mentioned 137 times in 116 verses in both Testaments. Specifically,
        Genesis 2:1-3
[1]Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2]And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
[3]And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
        Please read Exodus 16:23, 16:26, 16:29, 20:8, 20:10-11, 31:14-15, Mark 2:27-28, Mark 16:1, Luke 6:5, Luke 13:14-15,
In John 5:10 read the Jews were following their man made laws, not God’s.
In John 9:16 read how Pharisees were persecuting Jesus, calling him a sinner on Sabbath.
In John 19:31 read how they did not want to keep Jesus on the cross in preparation for Sabbath, indicating he was killed Friday and rose Sunday. Sabbath is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
        Acts 15:21
[21]For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Both old and new testament speak of keeping the Sabbath day holy. Preaching the three angels messages is not a cult. It is in fact the Sword of the Spirit warning us in Revelation prophecy. God bless you sister.
        Revelation 14:6-10
[6]And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
[7]Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
[8]And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
[9]And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
[10]The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

    4. It is not we, but the Lord, who condemns the Arians as pseudo-Christians. The Messiah Himself said, “Unless you believe that I AM (note: not “I am he,” the Greek is “ego emi”), you will die in your sins.” At this, the unbelieving Jews sought to stone Him, because He claimed the Divine Name for Himself.

  8. One way to see if a church is possibly controlled and not Christian is to not only look at the denomination (God did not ordain any denominational church, but try to tell that to them, ha ha), but also look to see if they have taken down the cross inside and/or outside of the church.

Our church we used to go to (Church of Christ) has NO cross on it, inside or out. I was just reading “Churches and Pastors Gone Wild” by Texe Marrs and it hit me that they didn’t have a cross anywhere in there! There is a steeple, but NO CROSS on it. Texe goes into that a little. Also the town I went to church in was HEAVILY into freemasonry (Knights of Columbus, Rotary, Elks, you name it they had it!).

The people in there with a few exceptions did not want anything to do with us outside of church. Finally the only person I talked to outside of church told me that her and me were the only ones not related by marriage or “family” in there! She’d been going there 20 years and they barely talk to her! Any attempts of mine to get to know any of them were rebuffed. So, what she said made sense. Then I asked God for discernment and he gave it to me. The pastor is all about money. If you got loads of it to donate to him, he’ll treat you like such a special person, but if you are poor, he’ll chat with you but nothing else. He also only preaches a few things about the Bible, he stays away from things that might bother his conscience like not worshipping God and mammon. It would not surprise me to find out he’s a freemason. His daddy was!
I felt I had zero support with any of them at that church, both my parents died, I was lucky to get a generic sympathy card from them. Also be wary about the bible ‘versions’ they use! The KJB is the best- don’t go for the adulterated versions (see Jack McElroy’s book). Above all, ask God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide you.

    1. The cross is an idol and likely not even the shape of the wood that Jesus was crucified on. Symbols of crosses and fish are pagan, not Christian, just like Easter and Christmas.

    2. No mason can join the Knights of Columbus, and if a Knight of Columbus becomes a Mason, he will be expelled from the Order. The Knights have nothing in common with freemasonry.

  9. Even though a Christian church may uphold traditional Christian beliefs it still may have some cult like control behavior. Just adding a thought.

I also wonder why Unitarianism is not on you list. I don’t know if most people know this but Unitarianism used consider itself to be a Christian church though it didn’t uphold the Trinity or other traditional doctrines but has since changed over the years.

    1. Trinity, like pre-trib, is a doctrine of demons. Even so – it neither condemns or saves. People become Christians by accepting Jesus Christ – NOT by accepting the man-made diabolical doctrine of Trinity.

I’m the one who should hate you for falsely accuse me of HATRED. Christianity is going down the tubes in America and Europe because there are too many judgmental people LIKE YOU in this debacle of a religion. Christians drive people, and even their own brothers and sisters, away from God. The biggest cause of Atheism in the world today is CHRISTIANS! And you guys are proof!

      1. First you say “There’s no such thing as “Doctrine of God’s Word” because everybody interprets the scriptures differently. ”

Then you say “Trinity, like pre-trib, is a doctrine of demons.”

I’m curious as to where you get you “belief” if it is not a doctrine?

I didn’t accuse you of hatred, you said you “hated” the trinity.

If you hate something that is “hatred”.

How can you hate something you don’t believe in?

Is your belief system based on “accusations” of others calling Christians of Europe and the United States as bad judging Christians but yet you have no problem judging others. Look at your own comments here before you go accusing others.

Could you “maybe” take a different approach or does anger suit you better?

If you want to hate me I could care less.

  10. Trinity believers are the largest cult folks on earth. Trinity divides, destroys, and kills. I hate it. It’s the biggest heresy to ever enter this debacle called ‘church’.

    1. You must struggle to read your Bible. Genesis 18, the beginning of John, and many many other passages make it very explicit in particular that Jesus is both man and God, but that there is also a Heavenly Father God. The Holy Spirit is clearly a thing too. I have heard someone who I think is genuinely Christian say their church didn’t view the Holy Spirit as a third person, which I disagree with, but they still believed it exists and has power. In any case, there is no good case against Jesus as God incarnate without throwing out all of the text.

    1. I would say there could be. There are churches who believe in the Trinity but still the cult like controlling behavior over their members. I wouldn’t think believing in and accepting the Trinity is necessarily the identifying belief in Christianity.

  11. Did this article mention the Vatican as well? If one knows God personally, then they know the true church of God. It doesn’t matter if the preacher is not true, it’s what’s in your heart in the words the preacher is saying as long as it comes from the word etc. The fallen one is seriously tricky- I call em “tricky dicky” anyone can be fooled I know from my own experiences. I’ll never again think God isn’t real, it’s the worst mistake I ever made! Wish I cld tell y’all of what happened & what I seen, but it will take up a lot of writing ✍️ Never ever let those thoughts take you away from God/Jesus- my motto always was he never abandoned me, so therefore I will never do same. I did though once, I guess I needed that spiritual beating! It was worth the darkness I entered that night— I know what Oblivion feels like & means. I didn’t want to live- or die- I simply just didn’t want to “BE” anymore. I wanted to not exist, that’s a very dark place my friends💞. Keep the 👉 ❤️‍🔥 of God*

  12. The bottom line of any church or so called church is do they believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift(Gospel) from God in his grace, sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to bleed and die on the cross for our sins, he was then buried and bodily resurrected on the third day. If you believe this alone you will be saved.

Repentance is a change of mind. It’s impossible to stop sinning yourself and our righteousness (good works) is like filth rags to God. Only Jesus blood can wash away our sins and water(baptism) does not. If you believe either that good works or baptism is necessary for salvation you will be surly disappointed. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation, it is a free gift from God that in his mercy, love and grace that he gave to us, that the only thing we can do is believe in the Gospel.

  13. Someone who disagrees with your views is not automatically a “cult”. It could be said that you are the cult. Beware before calling churches who follow the Bible “cults”. Some of these, the primary difference is denial of the Trinity doctrine, which is a doctrine of men and not found nor supported by the Bible. Yet, Trinitarians will automatically demonize anyone denying their unbiblical belief in a “Trinity” as “cults” and “false religions”. Trinitarian is the true false religion. As are many of them on this list (e.g. Mormons). But some of these are not by any means “cults”, not be definition, and not by their beliefs. Beware, false prophets!

  14. How about Judge not that ye be not judged? How about take the beam out of your own eye before trying to take the mote out of your neighbors eye? Your whole website is about tearing other people, their beliefs and their choice of religion apart. This list is your opinion, as you think of yourself as the authority on what constitutes a disciple of God and/or Jesus Christ. You are boosting your own self esteem, as you point fingers at good people trying to live a good life. Pride is also a sin. Do you think God wants you to make a hit list of all these religions and tell people they are wrong and you are right? That is pride. How about we try the first two commandments. Love God and Love our neighbors? Try finding the common beliefs you have with others and be kind. Jesus Christ loved and served people of different beliefs. He ate with Publicans, He used a Samaritan as an example of good, and etc. He love everyone, He suffered the Atonement for everyone, He died on the cross for everyone and He rose from the grave for everyone. He loved everyone, despite being persecuted. A true disciple of Jesus Christ chooses humility, love, kindness, charity, forgiveness and inclusiveness. I suggest that you re-write your website and make it about what all the religions have in common and what brings people of all faiths together. Try love.

    1. Total Offense so-called Christian talking about judging others when you are doing the same, really! Where is your discernment? The word of God is forgiven for rebuke and correction for which LOVE is given. Inclusive is NOT the answer. Agape is. By the way, I quote, “Do you think God wants you to make a hit list of all these religions and tell people they are wrong and you are right?” My answer to you, Where you there as the answer was given to me by God? Talking about ego. Did you read your answer before posting to me?

    2. >How about Judge not that ye be not judged? How about take the beam out of your own eye before trying to take the mote out of your neighbors eye? Your whole website is about tearing other people, their beliefs and their choice of religion apart.

      According to Luke 12: 54-57
“Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

Hebrew 5:14 says, “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

For example, when you choose church, you check what they believe. If we cannot think which is good or bad, then we have to become lawless one.

Using the Bible verses, I have commented why this pastor does not belong to God on his YouTube, but God did not angry about me. Several his church members got angry about me and told me to repent. Later, she found out she is wrong and she said sorry to me by prayer. Then, God told to me to forgive her. I forgave her.

Are you belong to those false churches? If so, you should think seriously, before it is too late. To tell the truth, false churches are more than you think.

  15. Please put our site on your list.
    (No Links Posted)
Since we use the Bible that Jesus used as foundational, we, like Jesus cannot be Christian . . . or can we? The message of Jesus, was to repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand, Matthew 4:17.

  16. How is it you acknowledge that the Catholic Church originated in the Holy Land in the 1st century, yet you list Her among the cults? Our Founder is the Lord Jesus Christ, and He created no other Church. Neither can you point to any other founder.

    1. Mr. Patton, I wasn’t trying to! God or Jesus didn’t call for “CHURCHES;” which include the Catholic Denomination. The only church is the bride of Christ; which made up individual believers in the Messiah. Traditions of men make the Word of God without power to change the minds to acknowledge their own sin. This US Christian Cult List is for those to reexamine their participation with any assembly listed, NOT to share the foundation of each. Many like to express their position, but cannot READ the post Correctly (before they post).

  17. I find this site rather interesting because of the amount of judging of someone’s beliefs on other religious practices. As the Dali Lama said, “Just because someone isn’t on your path doesn’t mean they are lost”. Let’s take a couple of days and try not to be so judgmental. Does it really matter what religion you practice as long as you seek happiness and peace? Your religion doesn’t make you a better person your behavior does.

    1. Richard, This site is for “CHRISTIANS” to reexamine their organization, NOT for anything else. Judgment means to discern, and I hope that everyone will do just that! In Christ, you must not yoke yourself together with a nonbeliever. What fellowship has light with darkness? Multifaith or Interfaith is not the way to see God.
